Jamie and Max Mirnyi will open their doubles account at the US Open against a relatively inexperienced pair in Michal Mertinak of Slovakia and Lovro Zovko of Croatia.

Jamie and Max are the 14th seeds out in NYC, and a first round win will see them take on the winner of Isner/Querrey and Calleri/Gonzalez.

The good news is that No. 1 seeds Nestor/Zimonjic are in the top half of the draw (and likely second round opponents for Andy/Ross), but the bad news is that the Bryan Bros are lurking around them, no doubt hoping to lay down a marker in front of a home crowd bereft of US contenders.

Jamie is teaming up with Liezel Huber in the mixed doubles once again too.
