Jamie and Simon Aspelin didn't have long to gel ahead of the Cincinnati Masters, but it didn't make any difference Monday after they came through their first round match 7-6 (5) 6-2 winners against Rohan Bopanna and James Cerretani.

The rustiness did show early on, as the guys dropped their opening service game, but they broke back two games later. Back on serve again at 2-2, the set would go to a tie-break.

Jamie and Simon broke twice to go 5-3 in front, before eventually taking it 7-5.

No such problems in the second set, where they broke twice to take the set 6-2.

A comfortable opener.
