What an amazing final!
The two best players in the world battled it out for almost 5 hours and in the end Rafael Nadal came out on top to win his first Wimbledon crown and end Fed's domination at SW19.
The final had everything and it'll be one that's talked about for a very long time! I still can't believe Rafa managed to win the fifth set after having huge opportunites to close out the match in the third and, in particular, the fourth set...
He showed all of his mental strength and fighting spirit to fend off Fed's charge and seal the win. Still, Federer showed what a champion he is by upping his level and started to take more control of the points, even clawing his way back to level the match but ultimately it was Nadal's day...
I really enjoyed Wimbledon this year even though I would have liked to have had better results...particularly in the men's doubles. Sadly, it wasn't meant to be.
We came so close in reaching the mixed final in what was a really tight match but ultimately we came up a little short. Even so it was great to go out and play on Centre Court again and hopefully next year I will get the chance again.
Andy made his first grand slam quarter-final which is a good stepping stone for him and I am sure that will give him the belief to go on and make a big push in his career and cement his place in the top 10...
I will be in london this week resting for a few days before i go off to Europe next week for a tournament with Jamie Delgado...
I'll then play Toronto and Cincinatti before flying to the Olympics and back to New York....racking up those air miles!!
