Day in the life...

A day in the life of Jamie Murray. Here it is in summary:
1. Find a hitting partner
Jamie and Jamie “Delgy” Delgardo in this case. They seem to hang out a fair bit. Someone obviously paying Delgy. Both the guys working closely with Louis Cayer on this particular day, and that’s always the case with Jamie…
2. New serve
When I went down last Friday, Jamie was just putting together the pieces of his new service action. Three days later and he had it nailed. According to Louis, that process takes around three weeks for the average player. It seems to have had some pretty radical tweaks here and there, but Jamie’s getting used to it and feeling the difference.
3. Changeover
When you’re at one end hitting, inevitably you’ll have to go down the other end and pick all the balls up. Hence the shortcut….
4. Time for a break…
It’s not all hard work. Jamie laughs at my almost inconceivably good banter whilst Louis and the guy who’s been filming Jamie’s serve get themselves ready for the next drill. Filming your service action enables you to look at it in its constituent parts, which when you’ve made significant changes is no bad thing.
5. Acting natural…
Interesting…
6. Crunches…
Jamie has his own fitness regime too. Like Andy’s, it had some pretty brutal core work thrown in….
7 . Stretches
Poor old Matty Little. The amount of banter this guy has to deal with from Andy is bad enough but it’s relentless with Jamie. I give him two weeks before he needs therapy.
