Hey guys
How you doing?
Tough week for me in Kolding this week, losing in a tie-break 10-8 in the first round. Kolding has, without doubt, the fastest courts I’ve ever played on and that was the fastest week of the year. There is no tennis to be played, it’s purely serving. That said, we should really have won the match but ultimately went down.
I came home on Wednesday morning, and luckily for me the journey from Stansted and down to training at Barnes tied in nicely with the 5-a-side football match…priorities! Sadly, my team went down but it was a very competitive match and that’s always the most important thing for me.

I mentioned before about the footy, and the fitness value is great for the players. An hour of that doubles as a very honest fitness session, and it's been nice to break up our tennis sessions with something different.
We’ve actually played a game every day for the last 3 days. Somehow, I’ve managed to find myself on the losing team all three times. Annoyingly, the latest game had to be cut short because Colin Beecher (aka Beechy) hit the ball on to the roof as a result of some suspect technique in front of goal.
It’s been a tough week for me but not even close to the levels of Rob Stewart who found himself the subject of much abuse for his goalkeeping abilities, or his complete lack thereof. Retirement was talked about, but yesterday he stepped up to the plate and delivered a series of high quality “saves”, including one reaction stop that David James would have been very happy with.
Last night I went out for dinner in Wimbledon with my mum, Andy, and our girlfriends to a restaurant in Wimbledon called San Lorenzo. It’s a really nice place and I always get a good feed. Just a shame about the company! Only joking…it was fun to sit down with everyone and catch up and I had a great time.

I am off to Orleans in France on Sunday for a Challenger event with Delgs and Alan, so we’ll be looking to get back to winning ways and get off the mark on the indoor season. We've worked hard on the practice court this week.
Alan’s promised a blog too, which should be amusing given his football performances this week.
