Rotterdam blog

Hey guys
By the time you read this I'll be in Rotterdam having flown into Amsterdam (not literally) before finishing off with a nice little drive to R'Dam itself.
What can I say, It's a big tournament and a high class field playing - this European indoor swing is always very strong and 2009 is no different. If you need convincing, the singles cut was 44!
We play Andreev/Matkowski first up, and with Andy and James 'Aucks' Auckland playing as well there's added incentive to play well.
Actually, it's the first 500 event of the season which adds up to double points - and that can only spell good news. We'll be looking to get a few wins under our belts before heading off to The States...
So what else is new? Not a huge amount really. I practiced hard at the NTC the last couple of days and I'm just looking forward to getting started again. Alan is back with me this week having had a week at home. He needed that to recover from my chat after four weeks on the road. Ha.
I worked with Diesel yesterday - he's off to Zagreb with some of the other players for a couple of futures events, so we took a cab to the airport together.
He's what I call a panic flyer: desperate to get to the airport early and with more check-lists than you've ever seen. No surprises that I'm the complete opposite.
Turns out there was plenty of time for him to check in, settle down at a bar and watch the rugby in the departure lounge. He's got a long way to go before he loses his rookie status!!
I went for dinner last night with some of the boys in Wimby village.
I always enjoy catching up with them when I'm home and last night was no different. The chat was flowing like the cranberry juices.
I was pretty tired and had to pack so went home early and sorted all my stuff out. I know how to have an exciting Friday!
