Hi guys

On a train to Paris right now for what I think will be my last tourney of the year. I'm teaming up with Pavel Vizner who I think will be a good partner for me; got to say, I am looking forward to it.

Lyon was a fun tournament, even if we lost a match I expected us to win. Not sure how many of you have been  - it isn't a big tourist destination I guess - but it's a very nice part of the world with some great architecture. From a playing point of view, the tournament put on a good show as well. It's nice to be well looked after.

The food in the player lounge is something the players often compare notes on, and the dessert menu was something else. Of course, it would have been a shame not to take advantage of it. Might have done just that huh.

Things have been going well with Alan Macdonald over the past couple of weeks, even though the results on the match court haven't been spectacular. We put in some good hours on the practice courts working more on certain areas of my game and I am starting to feel good about it already. I'm really looking forward to the off season where I'll b able to get a lot more good work under my belt.

On the subject of Alan, I managed to smash him at our favourite game -  "volley to volley" -  and so he now owes me a few favours which can be called upon at any moment: going to pick up rackets; going to buy the train tickets or order a car etc...

So I've sent him down to the food car to get some dinner!
