Where is Jamie?:

Lyon blog

Hello guys...what is up?

What can I say, great effort from Andy yesterday. Great effort all week if we're honest, and he thoroughly deserved the win. Onwards to Russia! Big week for Simon too, and I could see him as a top 10 player.

I'm in Lyon this week playing with Robbie Lindstedt, which is cool.

We drew the Brazilians Melo and Sa in the first round. As they say, it's a way..

Have to say, Lyon is a nice city and they put on a pretty good tournament. If there's any downside, it's that it can be hard to practice at these indoor events because there's normally just the two match courts, and the practice courts are sometimes at another venue. Oh yeah, and on a different surface too! So we take what we get until we get what we want..

I spent most of last week at Roehampton but put in a day at a plush club in Chelsea, simply because it was tough to get courts at NTC. The place we went was pretty nice - not a bad place to be a member of! But - think I might need to win a few more matches before I could join there!

What else has been happening? Went out for dinner with Colin Fleming who's just starting back playing tennis after a couple years out. That was on Wednesday. I lose track. Anyway, we used to play doubles together before he decided to go finish his degree and start working.

Maybe we'll even play again in the future if he gets his ranking back up to where it was before. I hadn't seen him forever and it was good to catch up, even if his banter is marginal!

He's playing the futures in Glasgow this week so get along and support him if you can!

Kind of settling into my new place, slowly. I never realised what a grind it is getting all the utilities and stuff sorted out. Being without broadband isn't the greatest, but I got there in the end. Just a TV and sofa to go, and I can celebrate moving out of the dark ages!

That'll do for now, I'll catch you all in a bit!
